TWS President spoke at the Senate

“The relations between Italy and Australia continue to grow steadily, with promising prospects for further strengthening in the future. The two countries are exploring new and exciting opportunities for collaboration in innovative and sustainable sectors, in order to expand the strategic partnership. This was stated by Carmelo Cutuli, TWS President in his quality of Vice President of Confassociazioni International in charge for relations with North America and Australia, during the presentation of the Australian branch of Confassociazioni held at the Santa Maria in Aquiro Hall of the Senate of the Republic, on the initiative of Senator Francesco Giacobbe (Pd), Secretary of the Industry, Commerce, Tourism, Agriculture and Agri-Food Production Commission. The meeting was attended, in addition to Giacobbe and Cutuli, by the President of Confassociazioni Angelo Deiana and the President of Confassociazioni Australia, Giovanni Patti.

"Trade between the two economies is already at excellent levels," Cutuli emphasized in his overview of relations between Italy and Australia, "with Italian exports to Australia exceeding 4 billion euros. Australia also represents a strategic gateway to expand the Italian presence in the Indo-Pacific area. For its part, Australia is very interested in the possibility of concluding a trade agreement with the European Union. Promoting the contribution of Italian communities in Australia remains a priority. Confassociazioni is strongly committed to strengthening its global network, creating new opportunities for exchange and collaboration between professionals and businesses in the two countries. Promoting and strengthening cultural and commercial ties between Italy and Australia is of fundamental importance."

"The relations between these two historic friendly nations have solid foundations and great potential for further growth," Cutuli concluded. "We will work together to seize this opportunity and achieve new goals of cooperation for mutual benefit."
