Polizzi's “Sellaro” Committee donates some copies of the work “We Have a Dream” to the TWS Association

On the occasion of the recent celebrations in honor of St. Rosalie, held at the Church of Santa Maria Odigitria dei Siciliani on Via del Tritone in Rome, the Vincenzo Sellaro Committee of Polizzi Generosa - chairwoman Nunzia Imburgia - donated some copies of the work “Abbiamo un sogno” by Moffo Schimmenti and Sergio Lo Verde.

The copies were handed over to TWS Association President Carmelo Cutuli, author of the biography of Vincenzo Sellaro to Archbishop Renzo Giuliano and Father Guido Colombo SSP, Primicerius and confrere of the Archconfraternity, respectively.

The work, “We Have a Dream,” a one-act play written in Italian and English, profiles three prominent figures: Cardinal Rampolla, a native of Polizzi Generosa who was close to the papal election; St. Mother Cabrini, a missionary who supported the nascent Italian community in the United States; and Dr. Vincenzo Sellaro, a Polizzi physician who founded the first Italian hospital in America and the oldest and most established organization of Italian Americans, the Sons of Italy (now OSDIA, Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America).

A copy of the work will be kept in the archives of the Archconfraternity, adding to a vast collection of books and documents that testify to the Sicilian presence in the capital from the 17th century to the present day.

This donation strengthens the link between the community of Polizzi Generosa and the historic Sicilian presence in Rome, represented by the Archconfraternity of Santa Maria Odigitria. The initiative contributes to preserving and disseminating the memory of key figures in the history of Italian emigration and the impact of Sicilians on Italian and American society.
